Corrections to Form 79bis and Form 79 for Directive 8R21.
Summary
On the Form 79bis :
- In PersonalData, BankruptOrProposal for Prior Proceedings the section “ProceedingLocation” has been changed to make the Street field optional, per the Guidance on the OSB Website. At a future time to be determined the fields City and Province will be mandatory, but City is being left optional for now to maintain backwards compatibility with existing software. Province is already mandatory.
On the Form 79 :
- The new liability types that were added to Form 79bis have now been added to the previous Form 79. These new liability types include: Credit cards – stores, Taxes – Federal, Taxes – Others, Payday loans, Utilities, Future Payments - Other Financial Advisors. This will facilitate submissions to estates filed before Sept 16, 2024. Please endeavor to use the new codes for all submissions to estates filed after Sept 16, 2024, as the Liability type “Taxes Federal/Provincial/Municipal” is deprecated and will be blocked in a future release, timeframe to be determined.
