Certification mark text
The use of the certification mark is intended to indicate that the specific wares and services listed above in association with which it is used are of the following defined standard: The certification mark indicates that manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, installers, inspectors and auditors who set requirements, oversee, carry out, inspect and install the installation air barrier systems, have met the applicable standards of installation of air and vapour barrier systems pursuant to the licensor's Quality Assurance Program. The certification mark with respect to wares indicates that the wares are sold by persons who have met the applicable standards for installation of air and vapour barrier systems pursuant to the licensor's Quality Assurance Program as set out below. The certification mark with respect to the services indicates that the services are provided by manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, installers, auditors and inspectors licensed by the applicant according to the NABA Quality Assurance Program Manual ("NABA QAP Manual"), as amended from time-to-time. In order for a manufacturer or supplier to be licensed, the manufacturer or supplier must: (a) manufacture or supply air and vapour barrier products; (b) be a member of National Air Barrier Association Inc. in good standing; (c) submit their air barrier products for regular testing by approved testing agencies; and (d) use approved in-house quality control systems to ensure a consistent quality product and provide test results to the licensor, as specified by the licensor in the NABA QAP Manual. In order for a contractor to be licensed, the contractor must: (a) meet certain administrative requirements; (b) attend classroom training for a set number of hours; (c) employ at least one licensed installer, (d) install all air barrier products in accordance with the requirements set out in the NABA QAP Manual; (e) conduct site application verification and complete all documentation required by the Quality Assurance Program; (f) notify the licensor when the contractor is the successful bidder on any and all NABA specified projects; (g) notify the licensor of the project schedule and project details prior to the application of materials on any and all NABA specified projects; and (h) submit all project documentation to licensor, as specified by the licensor in the NABA QAP Manual. In order for an installer to be licensed, the installer must: (a) meet certain administrative requirements; (b) attend classroom training for a set number of hours; (c) be supervised by a certified installer for a set period of time while demonstrating their skills; and (d) pay all necessary fees, as specified by the licensor in the NABA QAP Manual. In order for an inspector or auditor to be licensed, the inspector or auditor must: (a) meet certain administrative requirements; (b) attend classroom training for a set number of hours; (c) complete all requirements for on-going certification (as necessary); and (d) agree to assess all air barrier systems, as specified by the licensor in the NABA QAP Manual. All licensees may be audited and have their products or work inspected and must comply with the Quality Assurance Program. A copy of the NABA Quality Assurance Program Manual referenced above has been filed with the Trade-marks Office.
