The certification mark, as used by registered nurses and nurse practitioners in Pediatric Nursing, authorized by the Canadian Nurses Association/Association des Infirmières et Infirmiers du Canada, certifies that the individual: (1) was, as of the date of examination, a registered nurse or a nurse practitioner with current registration or license in Canada; (2) had, as of the date of the examination, met the experience and/or education requirements including a) completed a minimum of 1,950 hours' experience as a nurse or in their specialty over the past five years in full-time, part-time or casual employment, or completed a minimum of 1,000 hours' experience as a nurse in their specialty over the past five years in full-time, part-time or casual employment, and completed a formal post-basic course in their specialty of at least 300 hours in length and taken over the last 10 years; (3) has passed the Canadian Nursing Association Pediatric Nursing Certification Exam; (4) all fees have been paid, The certification mark, as used by registered nurses and nurse practitioners in Pediatric Nursing, authorized by the Canadian Nurses Association/Association des Infirmières et Infirmiers du Canada certifies a national designation of quality and competency of the Pediatric Nursing practices performed by those certified. It communicates to academic institutions, faculty, students, and the community that the authorized user has fulfilled specific standards of education, practical experience and examination in the field of health care relevant to nursing specializing in Pediatric Nursing. Attached to this application is the Pediatric Nursing Guidelines on how the competencies are measured to achieve certification in this specific area of practice. The applicant is not engaged in the manufacture, sale, leasing or hiring of goods or the performance of services such as those listed in the application.
