Certification mark text

The certification mark, as used by a person authorized by the certifier, certifies that the goods certified have met certain quality standards and performance criteria for optimized gaming and displays that have a sufficiently large variable video frame-rate range and low latency, while also supporting high-quality media playback. Specifically, the goods certified meet the following performance mandates: 1) an operation maximum refresh rate range greater than or equal to 144 Hz; 2) an operation minimum refresh rate range less than or equal to 60 Hz; 3) the display's factory-default Overdrive setting is tested to verify that the setting does not result in excessive overshoot less than or equal to 20% and undershoot less than or equal to 15% on any 16 test cases; 4) a less than or equal to 5-ms average time taken for the display hardware to transition from one luminance level to another in standard dynamic range (SDR) mode, performed over 20 gray-to gray test cases, taken from a 5 x 5 matrix with the display's factory-default Overdrive setting; 5) flicker of -50 dB on low-variability refresh rate tests; 6) flicker of -50 dB with high-variability refresh rate tests; 7) if the "SuccessiveFrameDurationIncreaseTolerance" variable is present, the minimum duration for the variable is 8.5 ms; 8) if the "SuccessiveFrameDurationDecreaseTolerance" variable is present, the minimum duration for the variable is 9.75 ms; 9); a video frame-to-frame jitter duration of plus or minus 0.5 ms for 23.976 to 60 Hz video frame rates; 10) a Video Frame Drop Tolerance of 0 Dropped Video Frames between minimum and maximum refresh rates reported to the operating system; 11) and the following 10 static frequency video frame rates that are to be supported within the Jitter specification limit, potentially by using display-side or GPU video frame duplication: 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 47.952, 48, 50, 59.94, and 60 Hz, Locked Video Frame Rates. A copy of the complete details of the standard are available for the public within the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.
