Description

This generic mass trade sector is restricted for the use of accredited authorized service providers who are distributors of platform scales and computing scales (types 02 and 03 in the device type and subtype tables) where:

• the sale of these devices is not to the end user, and
• the revenue generated by products weighed or measured by these devices cannot be associated with a specific trade sector.

This trade sector should only be used in exceptional circumstances where it is not possible to determine the specific trade sector (e.g. during factory examinations); otherwise, the most appropriate trade sector code should be used.

Registered organizations cannot use this trade sector, as it is not included in the scope of the registration program.

Possibly subject to mandatory examinations.

This is dependent on the device type and circumstances surrounding examinations.

Where the sector of use is unknown at the time of factory examination and the device could be used in a sector subject to mandatory examinations, a one-year next examination due date (NEDD) will automatically be applied.
