Launched in August 2019 as part of the Government of Canada's Advisory Council on Artificial Intelligence, the Commercialization Working Group has examined ways to translate Canadian-owned artificial intelligence (AI) into economic growth and benefits for Canadians. The Working Group completed a final report of recommendations in February 2020, highlighting five priority areas:
- People — pipeline for skilled talent
- Policy — marketplace frameworks to foster innovation
- Program — incentives for applied AI in industry
- Podium — demonstrating success stories and increasing awareness
- Platform — access to computing resources and infrastructure
