Erin Pond, Owner

A simple creed: We offer better flowers and better service

In 1977, Barry and Marcia Pond were searching for a way to build a quality life for themselves and their family, and as luck would have it, Jackman's was for sale. A simple creed, better flowers and better service, became the basis for the Jackman's philosophy. The Ponds loved the idea of running their own flower shop, where they provide same-day delivery of a full range of professional florist services for all occasions, including fresh flowers and flower arrangements, plants and planters, and goodie baskets. The company is now owned by Erin Pond, the second generation in her family to lead the business and continue its long tradition of success.

The challenge

With the ultimate goal of spreading hope, compassion, love, sympathy and care through high-quality florals, Jackman's was committed to bringing better customer service to its clients by updating its website. With an increasingly competitive online market and more clients going digital, the company knew it was important to keep its website up to date and easy to use to attract new and existing clients to place their orders online. With the help of the Canada Digital Adoption Program, Jackman's is leveraging the power of its website to increase sales.

Ontario Chamber of Commerce tip

Business owners should meet with an e-commerce service vendor or agency to discuss their goals before submitting their expense plan for the Grow Your Business Online grant. An e-commerce vendor can help clarify options that will best benefit your business and maximize the impact of your budget.
