Event description
The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) and the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) are pleased to host the 5th Annual IP Data & Research Conference on Thursday, .The objective of this conference is to disseminate intellectual property (IP) research from leading experts to further innovation and inform policy.
The all-day conference will be held on Zoom and will centre around five themes: "Diversity and Inclusion in the IP and Innovation Ecosystem"; "IP in a Digital World and Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic"; "IP Metrics"; "Clean Technologies"; and "IP, Data and Digital Platform Governance."We are excited to announce that this year's keynote presentation will be delivered by Ruth Okediji, professor of law at Harvard University and co-director of the Berkman Klein Center.The full agenda for the conference will soon follow.
We are also happy to announce that we will host the second annual Data Day on Wednesday, . This half-day event (10 AM–3 PM EDT) will allow researchers to share the "how" of their research, presenting the data and analytic techniques used to draw their conclusions.
