Canadian Intellectual Property Office Roundtables

In 2012 and 2013, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) held four waves of roundtable discussions to better understand the role of intellectual property (IP) as a driver of innovation in Canada. We began roundtable sessions in the summer of 2012, and focused on the experiences of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and technology transfer offices (TTOs) with the Canadian IP system.

You can find the reports for each wave in the links below. These reports describe what we have learned about the needs of customers. We will use this to direct the development of information and services that SMEs need to successfully use IP for innovation and commercial success.
