Over the past several months, it has become clear that intellectual property must be part of the solution as governments continue to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. In that context, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office is pleased to announce a pilot initiative that allows trademark applicants to request expedited examination of their applications associated with goods or services related to COVID-19. Details on eligibility and how to file a request can be found in the Requests for expedited examination practice notice.
This pilot initiative will continue until , or until the Registrar deems appropriate.
