About the consultation
This consultation pertains to the principle of dependency under the Madrid System as it is currently implemented in Canada and the Registrar of Trademarks is seeking comments in relation to the potential changes that are being proposed at the Working Group on the Legal Development of the Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks.

We value your views and would like to hear from businesses, individuals, agents, groups or organizations that have an interest in Canada's trademark regime in general and/or the Madrid System in particular.
This public consultation on Trademarks and Industrial Designs Branch practice is an opportunity for you to learn about, and comment on, the principle of dependency and potential changes under the Madrid System.
