ISED’s Scientific Integrity Policy at the CRC

The principles of scientific integrity, including scientific excellence, research ethics, and responsible research conduct, have long guided the Communications Research Centre (CRC). On a daily basis, teams—including over 20 researchers—uphold these values.

These principles are central to the Scientific Integrity Policy of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED). The CRC is a branch of ISED’s Spectrum and Telecommunications Sector. CRC researchers provide scientific evidence to support decision-making related to spectrum and telecommunications innovation.

ISED’s Policy takes effect on April 1, 2019, and it will be implemented in 2019-2020. At ISED, the Policy applies to researchers who are employed in the Research (RE) category.

ISED’s Policy is based closely on the Model policy on scientific integrity developed by the Office of the Chief Science Advisor, the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada and the Treasury Board Secretariat in response to the government’s commitment to scientific integrity.
