Competition Bureau approves NCI Building Systems as the buyer of Kingspan’s manufacturing facility in Hamilton, Ont.

October 16, 2015 — OTTAWA, ON — Competition Bureau

The Competition Bureau announced today that it has approved the sale by Kingspan Group Limited of the former Vicwest Inc. insulated metal panels manufacturing facility in Hamilton, Ontario, to NCI Building Systems, Inc.

The Bureau determined that NCI, an established producer of insulated metal panels in the United States without manufacturing facilities in Ontario, would be an effective buyer of the Hamilton facility, thereby resolving the likely lessening of competition in the supply of insulated metal panels in Ontario.

This sale is being made under the May 2015 Consent Agreement between Kingspan and the Bureau relating to Kingspan’s proposed acquisition of business rival Vicwest.
