Internships opportunities

Computers for Schools also provides students and recent graduates with paid, practical on-the-job experience in refurbishment centres across Canada.

The Computers for Schools Intern (CFSI) program supports the Government of Canada's Youth Employment and Skills Strategy. CFSI seeks to enhance the employability and marketability of youth through internships specifically targeted to develop expertise and skills needed to actively participate in the digital economy.

Under CFSI eligible youth are given valuable work experience through internships targeted to develop and enhance advanced digital skills. CFSI helps young Canadians of diverse backgrounds and genders gain work experience and develop a variety of advanced digital skills and important soft-skills such as project management, teamwork, and communications.

Participants in this program will repair and refurbish computer equipment, sort and test computer software, prepare and package computers for shipment, develop communications material, do community outreach, network set-up and installation as well as training and support.

Eligibility

To be eligible to participate in the CFSI program, you must:

  • be aged between 15 and 30 years old (inclusive) at the start of the internship;
  • be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada; and
  • be legally entitled to work in Canada

Computers for Schools has refurbishment centres in every province and territory except Nunavut. Contact your local CFS+ Affiliate to find out how to apply.
