  • ABC Life Literacy Canada

    The ABC Life Literacy Canada's (ABC) project will offer a variety of resources to organizations helping beginner digital learners across Canada. Organizations will have the flexibility to choose what works best for the community they serve. Participants will learn the basics of accessing the Internet, using devices, and increase their comfort in working with technology independently.

  • Altered Minds Inc.

    Altered Minds Inc. will deliver their Computers for Life (C4L) initiative, which is a two-level digital literacy program that teaches basic computer and Internet safety skills to people, in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Participants will learn how to set up a computer and connect it to the Internet, create, edit and organize documents into folders, find and store information online, use online maps to plan a trip, send emails and attach files, use Google Translate, apply for jobs and services online, do online shopping and banking, participate in online meetings, and protect themselves from online frauds.

  • Brain Injury Association Waterloo-Wellington

    The Brain Injury Association Waterloo-Wellington (BIAWW) will provide digital literacy training and assistive devices, to Brain Injury (BI) survivors and seniors to teach new skills and support them in adapting to the use of technology as a tool to function independently.

  • Burnaby Neighbourhood House Society

    The Pathways to Digital Access and Education program 2.0 will be implemented in partnership with the UBC Learning Exchange (UBLCE) and the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University (SFU) to provide digital literacy training and computer access that responds to particular learning needs of low literate adults and newcomers.

    TechKNOWtutors (TKt) is a digital skills project to support people in fully embracing the digital economy, targeting underrepresented groups who may be at a digital disadvantage such as older persons, persons with disabilities and persons from low-income households including persons who have not completed high school. TKt will assist members of these groups to bridge the digital divide, help them access digital technology and develop the skills they need to use it.

  • CNIB

    The Connecting with Technology 2.0: Closing the Digital Divide for More Canadians with Sight Loss project will increase participation in the digital economy by teaching fundamental digital literacy skills to Canadians with sight loss and intersecting social identities. Training will be delivered nationally, in-person and virtually, and will teach participants how to use the accessibility features of modern technology and assistive devices in order to access and navigate online spaces safely, confidently, and independently.

  • East Hants Community Learning Association

    The Learn Tech, Save Money, Stay Safe project will deliver fundamental digital literacy training to individuals from underrepresented groups in Nova Scotia. The project will allow participants to safely use technology in order to access goods and services through group sessions and workshops. Participants will learn to use basic computer software to search for and navigate web pages, use social media, conduct e-commerce safely and effectively, as well as reduce vulnerability to online frauds and scams.

  • Fabrique Mobile de L'Outaouais, Coopérative de Solidarité

    Fabrique Mobile's project aims to improve the digital skills of the population, particularly people aged 65 and over, residents of rural and remote areas, low-income people in the greater Outaouais region and five regional county municipalities (RCMs), and Ottawa's French-speaking population. To bridge the divide between groups that are actively involved in the digital economy and those who lack the basic knowledge required, a series of training sessions at levels adapted for all will be offered to help create a balance among the population. These trainings will be in the form of practical, beginner or intermediate workshops, where participants will be able to experiment directly with digital technologies and increase their knowledge on the subject.

  • Gaspésie Literacy Council

    Gaspésie Literacy Council (GLC) project will provide digital literacy services and resources to Indigenous and English-speaking minority language communities on Quebec's North Shore and throughout the Bas Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie. These services will be offered to any willing participant, including seniors, low-income groups, people with disabilities, and individuals who did not complete high school. Participants will improve access to the Internet and other digital technologies in the digital economy, as well as increase awareness about the impact of literacy.

  • GLUU Technology Society

    Gluu Digital Skills For Life (GDSL) project will help bridge the digital divide and promote inclusivity by ensuring all Canadian seniors can use the internet safely. This is crucial in today's digital world. The project will work with over 40 community-based organizations nationally to train their volunteers to become Digital Coaches. Volunteers will be equipped with printed materials and online courses to teach seniors virtually and through in-person classes how to safely navigate the digital world. Topics include how to carry out daily activities online, such as online services, video calling, and social media.

  • Job Skills

    Job Skills' Point, Click, Connect project will deliver basic computer skills training across the York Region, Ontario to the following residents: Indigenous, low income, seniors, persons with disabilities and newcomers. The introductory training covers desktop, laptop and smartphone use, navigating the Internet correctly and safely, accessing the most common computer programs, and conducting an effective job search. The skills learned will allow them to use the Internet safely and effectively and increase their self-confidence.

    The Connect and Preserve: Digital and Media Literacy Project (C&P) will build digital and critical media literacy skills of Indigenous, low-income, Seniors and those who have little experience and expertise navigating the Internet and participating in the digital economy as consumers. Participants will learn the technical digital skills to improve their ability to access information and resources to ensure their online engagement is safe, productive and confident.

  • Literacy Link South Central

    Literacy Link South Central (LLSC) will unite with twelve (12) area partners to deliver basic digital literacy programming to underrepresented populations in their 6-county area, in Ontario. These partners have existing networks in their community to find people who do not regularly access learning opportunities. The project team will deliver programming in various formats: in-person, online and a hybrid of both approaches. The content of programming will remain at a basic level, helping people to overcome fear related to using technology and the internet and become confident citizens who can fully participate in the digital economy – confidently and safely.

  • Newfoundland and Labrador Public Libraries

    Newfoundland and Labrador Public Libraries (NLPL) will provide Digital Literacy services through the development of digital literacy programs, 1:1 instructional sessions, and resources in an online catalogue. Residents of Newfoundland and Labrador, with a focus on underrepresented groups, including people with disabilities, seniors and residents of rural and remote areas, will be able to access these supports and build their skills and their confidence to navigate new technology and digital spaces. Participants will learn both basic and intermediate skill level topics, such as: device usage, email, social media, Internet searching and digital government services.

  • PALS- Project Adult Literacy Society

    PALS – Project Adult Literacy Society's Digital Literacy project is for adult learners and focuses on specific digital skills or topics that cover computer basics (including using the mouse and keyboard to file management), Internet basics (including using email, browsing the web and staying safe online), skills for work (including using word processors and spreadsheets), and smart technology (including using a smart phone or tablet for everyday tasks and how to navigate using a variety of apps). The program is offered through small group classes and one-to-one tutoring sessions online and in person, so learners can participate in a way that works for them.

  • Parkland County Libraries

    The Tech4Parkland Project will support the development of fundamental digital skills among rural residents, increase the number of digital literacy training opportunities in Parkland County, increase the number of people who participate in training, and provide the opportunity for hands-on learning by lending technology to individuals participating in digital literacy training. The project will develop a series of courses covering both fundamental technical skills, skills in emerging technologies, and analytical skills for critically evaluating information online. Course series will include fundamentals series, fundamentals for employment series, your business in an online world series, what is broadband Internet and why should I care series, as well as how do I stay safe online series.

  • SADC Shawinigan

    The Accès-TI Aînés 2.0 project aims to improve the confidence and skills of seniors, including those aged 65 and over, in Shawinigan in using the Internet and to develop their cyber awareness, which will increase their use of this essential tool in everyday life. Training sessions are offered for individuals, couples and small groups, in addition to lectures and webinars, tutorials and interactive content. Support is also available on a walk-in basis at a help centre.

  • Saskatoon Industry Education Council

    The Saskatoon Industry Education Council's (SIEC) digital literacy team will provide basic digital literacy training to Saskatchewan citizens, especially those from underrepresented groups, with the help of partner organizations throughout Saskatchewan. Participants will develop the skills needed to use the Internet safely, securely and effectively and will learn the basic uses of Microsoft and Google computer applications.

    The Bridging the Divide: Digital Champions for the Immigrant Serving Sector project aims to increase the digital literacy skills and confidence of newcomers to promote participation in the digital economy, and to build the capacity of immigrant service provider organizations by training staff and volunteers as Digital Champions to support clients in acquiring or improving digital skills. Participants will acquire the digital skills needed to safely use smartphones, tablets and PCs to communicate with others, access community resources and government benefits, book medical appointments, and utilize other functions that will support their everyday life.

  • Tech Manitoba

    Tech Manitoba will teach basic digital literacy skills to Manitobans with a focus on underrepresented groups and build upon the digital literacy skills of trainers through workshops. In-person and online training will be delivered across the province to support the safe and effective use of online shopping, banking, accessing telehealth services, and in aiding employment searches. Participants will learn basic competencies in the use of computer programs and other communication tools, the ability to use basic digital applications, along with awareness of internet security.

    The Learning Enrichment Foundation (LEF) will provide participants with digital literacy training, specifically targeting three underrepresented groups: Newcomers to Canada, Individuals who do not speak English or French at home, and Individuals over the age of 65 who lack the basic skills and confidence needed to participate in the digital economy. The types of digital literacy training that will be offered includes courses on computers, mobile devices, Internet basics, email, completing daily tasks online, online banking, Internet security, search engines, videoconferencing and other communications, and the ability to make secure transactions such as online purchases.
