How the grant helped them
The Ulnooweg Education Centre is developing a course on intellectual property, Indigenous knowledge, and Indigenous cultural expressions. The course will be available online, in a self-directed format or delivered in-person as a presentation and workshop.
The impact
The course introduces intellectual property and the challenges and opportunities for Indigenous intellectual property rights. Course users will learn about types of intellectual property, the legal gaps in protecting Indigenous knowledge and Indigenous cultural expressions, and developments in intellectual property law in Canada and the world.
