Finding solutions for Indigenous entrepreneurs

About the organization

Canadian Council for Aboriginal Businesses (CCAB) is a non-profit organization that fosters relationships and builds bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses.

How the grant helped them

CCAB organized a roundtable discussion on November 8, 2023, at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg. The discussion focused on the issues Indigenous entrepreneurs face when it comes to protecting Indigenous knowledge and understanding intellectual property.

The impact

The event allowed Indigenous entrepreneurs to meet each other and talk about the difficulties they face, as well as their strategies and success stories for protecting their intellectual property rights. By learning the value of different types of intellectual property, Indigenous entrepreneurs can continue to keep their businesses and assets safe.
