What is a typical day in the life of a manager in the Examination Section of the IIPSD?
I lead a large team of examiners who review applications under various federal acts, but specifically the Canada Business Corporations Act. We work on projects that fulfill the branch's vision in service excellence while remaining a regulatory body.
I interact with my employees about complex applications, or I simply review progress on projects and present it to senior management. I also work closely with other sections, always sharing new ideas so that we can help each other overcome work challenges.
Why do you love what you do?
I have been working at Corporations Canada since 2003. I started as a student, and now I manage a team. I have had the opportunity to develop my career and work with a great team of peers who are supportive and always available to help me develop my skills. We work really hard to help clients achieve their goal of starting a business, and we take great pride in that! I truly feel empowered to share my ideas and contribute to the success of the branch.
