Electric vehicle charging stations
Electric vehicle charging stations allow consumers to buy electricity to charge their electric vehicles (EVs).
Common billing methods
- Time-based rate ($1.75 per minute)
- Flat rate ($40 per use)
- Blended rate ($20 for parking + $20 for vehicle charge)
EV charging stations that use time-based, flat rate and blended rate billing methods are exempt from inspection or any intervention by us.
We are working with industry to introduce technical standards to allow EV charging stations to charge based on kilowatt-hours (kWh) consumed. EV charging stations that meet these standards will be approved to charge for electricity based on kWh.
