Measurement Canada approves and inspects meters and other measuring devices as mandated by the Weights and Measures Act and Regulations. Although water meters are exempt from the approval and inspection requirements, they are still under our jurisdiction and must maintain their accuracy.
If you doubt the accuracy of your water meter, contact your water utility or municipality. Measurement Canada can help facilitate communication between you and your utility.
Your local ombudsman may also be able to help you resolve this matter.
