Canada-United Kingdom Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for the conformity assessment of telecommunications equipment

As of January 1, 2021, the United Kingdom (U.K.) will officially cease to be a party of the Canada-EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson have announced that Canada and the U.K. have reached an interim post-Brexit trade agreement. An exchange of letters between Innovation Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) and the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) have been signed to ensure a continued mutual recognition of Canadian and U.K. conformity assessment bodies (CABs) of telecommunication products until the entry into force of the Agreement on Trade continuity between Canada and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and North Ireland (CUKTCA).
