Maxime Boudreault personifies the ideal person of the future the students relate to.
Maxime Boudreault can be described as a ferryman: he is a mentor and role model for his students. He supports them in the transition to secondary school and encourages them to keep an open mind and heart so that they can work together respecting one another's strengths.
Pedagogical approach
Maxime offers a stimulating learning environment for all students based on their individual needs. His teaching methods are creative and innovative. He willingly challenges his own teaching methods and improves them to achieve better outcomes.
In class
- Maxime uses various technological approaches to give all students the opportunity to actively engage in learning to use ICTs.
- He addresses protection of privacy with his students as well as cyber bullying to help them safely and ethically use the internet.
- Maxime is quick to bring in outside resources to check the students' general knowledge about how to use particular software programs.
Outstanding achievements
- Maxime participates in a research-action project conducted by the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi to develop instructional materials for teaching syntax and punctuation, two subjects that are often weaknesses for Grade 6 students.
- He encourages participation in extracurricular activities, including noontime get-togethers where he teaches students to play the guitar.
- Working with the school's remedial teacher, he started a morning program that sees a number of students from his class go to help the youngest students as they learn to read, developing mutual assistance and leadership among his students.
- Maxime created an annual gala that he organizes, in which students perform and each has the opportunity to shine.
