This chart shows the old band plan and SMSE-004-08 proposed band plan for the Upper 700 MHz band, i.e. the band 746-806 MHz. The Upper 700 MHz band includes analog TV channels 60, 61 and 62, as well as analog TV channels 65, 66 and 67 from the old band plan that consist of the 746-764 MHz and 776-794 MHz bands. The proposed new band plan indicates that these bands will be subject to a future consultation. The Upper 700 MHz band also includes analog TV channels 63 and 64, paired with analog TV channels 68 and 69 from the old band plan that consist of the 764-776 MHz and 794-806 MHz paired spectrum designated for public safety use. In the old band plan, the paired bands 764-767 MHz and 794-797 MHz were designated for narrowband public safety use and the paired bands 767-770 MHz and 797-800 MHz were designated for wideband public safety use, while it was planned that after the transition of analog television to DTV, the paired bands 770-773 MHz and 800-803 MHz would be designated for wideband public safety use and the paired bands 773-776 MHz and 803-806 MHz would be designated for narrowband public safety use. In SMSE-004-08 proposed band plan, changes to the public safety spectrum were made such that the paired A block that consists of the 764-768 MHz and 794-798 MHz bands will be subject to a future consultation that would look at harmonizing with the United-States with respect to the broadband designation in the bands 763-768 MHz and 793-798 MHz. In addition, the chart shows the paired B block that consists of the 768-769 MHz and 798-799 MHz bands, the paired C block that consists of the 775-776 MHz and 805-806 MHz bands and the paired narrowband (NB) block that consists of the 769-775 MHz and 799-805 MHz bands where narrowband and wideband operations are allowed.
Figure 2: 700 MHz Public Safety Band Plan
This chart shows the 700 MHz public safety band plan consisting of the 764-776 MHz band (TV channels 63 and 64) paired with the 794-806 MHz bands (TV channels 68 and 69). The chart indicates that the paired A block that consists of the 764-768 MHz and 794-798 MHz bands will be subject to a future consultation. In addition, it indicates that the amount of narrowband (NB) and wideband (WB) spectrum in the paired NB/WB block that consist of the 768-776 MHz and 798-806 MHz bands will be set out in the relevant SRSP.
