Descriptions of Figures

Greater Montreal Area

This is a map of the Greater Montreal area. The map illustrates the spectrum saturation levels as described in Table 1 where the saturation decreases as you move outside of the Montreal core. It shows that the core area of Montreal corresponds to a saturation level of 60-75%. Outside of the core, areas including Lachute, Saint-Jérome and Granby represent saturation levels of 45-60%. Moving further away from the core into areas around Ottawa and including Trois-Rivières, saturation levels are at 30-45%. Sherbrook and Mont-Laurier are at the lowest saturation levels of 0-30%.

Golden Horseshoe

This is a map of the Golden Horseshoe area. The map illustrates the spectrum saturation levels as described in Table 1 where the saturation decreases as you move outside of the Toronto core. It shows that the core area of Toronto corresponds to a saturation level of 75-100%. Outside of the core, areas including Guelph, Brandford, Niagara Falls and Scarborough represent saturation levels of 60-75%. Moving further away, the horseshoe shaped area including Oshawa, saturation levels are at 45-60%. Areas outside of Oshawa and extending towards London and Windsor, Ontario, saturation levels are at 30-45%. The Windsor core represents saturation levels of 45-60% with a very small area on the Canada-U.S. border at saturation levels of 60-75%. Areas extending beyond Peterborough are at the lowest saturation levels of 0-30%.

Greater Vancouver Area

This is a map of the Greater Vancouver area including Vancouver Island. The map illustrates the spectrum saturation levels as described in Table 1 where the saturation decreases as you move outside of the Vancouver and Langley core. It shows that the core area of Vancouver in a horseshoe shape corresponds to a saturation level of 60-75%. Outside of the core, areas including Nanaimo and Victoria on Vancouver Island represent saturation levels of 45-60%. Moving further away from the core and up the BC Coast into areas including Courtenay, saturation levels are at 30-45%. Beyond Courtenay, saturation levels are 0-30%.
