The ability to curate content and point online users to credible sources of information is critical in promoting civil engagement, diversity of opinion and a healthy democracy.  It this context, it is particularly important to distinguish between a curated post (containing a commentary, a brief snippet from, attribution and link to the original source) and the re-posting of the original post in its entirety either with or without attribution and without permission to do so.

Curated content as described about should be protected as fair use, a safe harbour and not infringing on copyright.  In fact, it should be viewed as free advertising and a channeling of potential readers to the source of the original content.
