Organization Project Description
The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs in BC (The Forum)
(British Columbia)
This project will deliver three educational programs for women entrepreneurs across the growth continuum and a mentor program for women entrepreneurs in all stages. Participants will be provided with tools and skills to develop business plans, growth plans, understand the funding landscape and build their funding roadmap. It will also expand programming that provides training and mentorship to entrepreneurs on pitching their business and raising external capital.
Rise Asset Development
(Ontario)
This project will support the development of a Peer Supported Training Program for women entrepreneurs. Curriculum for the program will focus on business planning and launch, money management, digital literacy and tools, personal wellbeing, and peer and professional network development and maintenance. The project will include training, mentoring, peer networking, business advisory support, and technology support.
Canadian Women's Chamber of Commerce
(Ontario)
This project will provide peer mentorship, networking and targeted skills training to women entrepreneurs looking to access the venture capital landscape in Canada. Funding will also be used to develop virtual reality software that participants will use to practice funding pitches and hone their presentation skills using custom simulation software with virtual investors.
Canadian Women's Foundation (Ontario) This project is focused on responding to systemic barriers and gaps for diverse, intersectional and/or under-served women and will help close information gaps access to business support services for women entrepreneurs. It will also help to ensure that women entrepreneurs, women business support organizations, government bodies and financial institutions in Canada are equipped with useful resources and new information to better understand and assist women entrepreneurs.
National Angel Capital Organization (Ontario) This project will support creation of an online educational platform that allows women and diverse women entrepreneurs to create a custom learning journey based on their unique needs and company profile. It will also support the creation of a streamlined due diligence package to make capital raising more efficient and effective for women and diverse women entrepreneurs will be established. Investor-ready women and diverse women entrepreneurs will be able to participate in a 6 month mentorship program through an online portal.
Réseau des Femmes d'affaires du Québec
(Québec)
This project aims to accelerate growth of women-owned businesses by building the capacity of women entrepreneurs through training, structured networking and networking activities, with the goal of increasing their chances of securing contracts in the supply chains of major manufacturers. It will also raise awareness among major manufactures about the importance of supplier diversification.
Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development
(Nova Scotia)
This project will provide training to support women to successfully start, scale-up or expand their businesses. The project will provide customized training, networking and mentorship to start, scale-up, recover or adapt their business. Online delivery of programming will enable participation from diverse women across Canada, including those in remote/rural areas.
Organization for Nova Scotia Innovation Driven Entrepreneurship
(Nova Scotia)
This project will develop and administer a Virtual Incubator program targeting rural, Indigenous and diverse women. The project will help entrepreneurs access business capacity-building, peer networks and business mentorship in a hybrid environment.
