I'm Cécile Léger. I'm the owner of the Cremerie Bennic Dairy Bar in Dieppe, New Brunswick. I became the owner in 2018 after my parents sold it. We first opened our doors in 2011 in a small building on Mountain Road, in Moncton. My parents wanted to retire, so I made a big decision—and a career change.

I worked as a nurse for 16 years. Of course, as a profession, nursing did not give me any entrepreneurship knowledge. So I sought help and turned to Solution: Repreneuriat, a government program that gave me a lot of help. My biggest challenge, really, was achieving a good work-life balance. I learned what my strengths were and what the challenges were.

They prepared a program specifically tailored to me and were able to offer me coaching as well. I realized what I needed to work on and discovered where to go for support. It really allowed me to excel as a business owner and as a businesswoman. I think the most important thing is to get help and not be afraid of getting help.

There really are programs and people that are there to help us. Of course, as women, we're sometimes under a lot of pressure, with everything going on at home, and with kids, and everything going on at work. It's important to have a balance between the two and also to take care of ourselves and take the time to do the things we love.
