The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) and the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) were pleased to co-host the 4th Annual Data Day on Monday, , as well as the 7th Annual IP Data & Research Conference on Tuesday, .

First launched in 2018, the conference is a free event that serves as a vital platform for experts to exchange insights and advancements in intellectual property (IP) data, policy and research. This conference is instrumental in fostering innovation, shaping policy and facilitating global collaboration among researchers.

In 2024, the conference delved into the theme of "IP: A Driver for Economic Growth." It kicked off with Data Day, a pre-conference event that provided the opportunity to deep dive into research projects and allowed experts to showcase the "how" behind their findings by sharing data and methodologies that underpin their conclusions.

Keynote address

During the Main Conference, our keynote speaker, Giuseppina (Pina) D'Agostino, delivered a presentation titled "True, north, strong and protected: Why IP matters in Canada."
