About the consultation

The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) is conducting a public consultation on the proposed increase in fees to better understand its impact on clients, Canadian businesses, intellectual property (IP) agents and domestic and international stakeholders. This fee adjustment exercise is necessary to ensure that CIPO can continue to deliver on its mandate of providing timely and quality IP products and services to customers and to increase awareness, knowledge and effective use of IP by Canadians.
