fee adjustment: On , certain fees related to trademark applications and registrations, geographical indications, official marks, as well as industrial design applications and registrations will increase by 2.7%, in accordance with the Service Fees Act. Please note that not all fees are subject to an annual adjustment.
As a result, the amounts shown in the Tariff of Fees of the Trademarks Regulations and the Industrial Design Regulations, both made available to the public by the Department of Justice Canada, may not be up-to-date. However, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office's website and all relevant correspondence issued by the Office will be updated.
Fee adjustments – what fee do I pay?
The fee amount that you must pay for the filing of an application for the registration of a topography depends on the date on which the fee is received by the Registrar of Topographies, not the date on which the service was originally requested.
How to determine what fee to pay
For all fees subject to an adjustment:
- If payment is received before January 1 of next year, you will need to pay the prescribed fee for the current year.
- If payment is received on or after January 1 of next year, you will need to pay the adjusted prescribed fee for next year.
For example, if you file an application before January 1 but a filing date cannot be granted because the prescribed fee was not paid, the amount you need to pay will depend on the date on which the Registrar of Topographies receives the payment. If the payment is received after January 1, you will need to pay the adjusted fee for the new year.

Amending or making a new entry in the register
Amending an entry in the register or making a new entry under subsection 21(2) of the Act:
- 2024 fee: $94.00
- 2025 fee: $94.00
Amending a certificate of registration or issuing a new certificate
Amending a certificate of registration or issuing a new certificate, under subsection 19(4) of the Act, for the purpose of correcting a typographical or clerical error made as a result of incorrect information supplied by the applicant:

Provision of copies
Providing a copy of a document, of entries in or extracts from the register, or of any material referred to in Section 26 of the Regulations, for each page measuring 21.5 cm x 28 cm (8 ½ inches x 11 inches) or less:
