Publication of RSS-102 (Issue 6) and companion documents
Notice is hereby given that Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) has published the following documents :
- RSS-102 (Issue 6) - Radio Frequency (RF) Exposure Compliance of Radiocommunication Apparatus (All Frequency Bands) and associated documents, which set out the requirements, and the measurement and simulation techniques to be employed for evaluating radio frequency (RF) exposure compliance of radiocommunication apparatus (Category I and Category II equipment), which are designed to be used within the vicinity of the human body.
- RSS-102.SAR.MEAS (Issue 1) - Measurement Procedure for Assessing Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Compliance in Accordance with RSS-102 which sets out the specific absorption rate (SAR) compliance requirements for all equipment operating in the 100 kHz to 6 GHz frequency band. Note that some provisions are included for the application of SAR measurements to evaluate compliance to absorbed power density (APD) limits of portable devices operating in the 6 GHz band (5925-7125 MHz).
- RSS-102.NS.MEAS (Issue 1) - Measurement Procedure for Assessing Nerve Stimulation Compliance in Accordance with RSS-102 which sets out the measurement methods for assessing compliance of equipment operating in the frequency range from 3 kHz to 10 MHz with the radio frequency (RF) exposure limits to prevent nerve stimulation (NS) as outlined in RSS-102.
- RSS-102.NS.SIM (Issue 1) - Simulation Procedure for Assessing Nerve Stimulation (NS) Compliance in Accordance with RSS-102 which sets out the computational electromagnetics simulation methods for assessing compliance of equipment operating in the frequency range from 3 kHz to 10 MHz with the radio frequency (RF) exposure limits to prevent nerve stimulation (NS) as outlined in RSS-102.
- RSS-102.IPD.MEAS (Issue 1) - Measurement Procedure for Assessing Incident Power Density (IPD) Compliance in Accordance with RSS-102 which sets out the general test methods to be followed when carrying out a radio frequency (RF) exposure compliance assessment of portable devices operating in the 60 GHz frequency band (57-71 GHz).
- RSS-102.IPD.SIM (Issue 1) - Simulation Procedure for Assessing Incident Power Density (IPD) Compliance in Accordance with RSS-102 which sets out the general simulation methods to be followed when carrying out a radio frequency (RF) exposure compliance assessment of portable devices operating in the 60 GHz frequency band (57-71 GHz).
