F12.net: Advocates for cybersecurity

When F12.net first heard about CyberSecure Canada certification, they knew it was a program they could get behind. As an information technology (IT) company, they know first-hand how integral cybersecurity is to keeping small and medium-sized businesses secure, but they didn’t stop at simply getting the certification themselves—they’ve since become advocates for the program, encouraging other organizations to get certified as well.

About F12.net

Advocating for cybersecurity

F12.net was one of the first organizations in the country to receive CyberSecure Canada certification. As Calvin Engen, Chief Technology Officer, said, “We need to have the highest standards possible so that we can bring those same standards to our clients. We want to make sure that we are never in a situation where we’re the weakest link. A part of that is going through certifications to ensure that we are audited for what we say we’re doing.” Having the certification has also been a business differentiator, with potential clients often asking what certifications F12.net has when they are considering working with the company.

Another reason F12.net chose to pursue certification was because they wanted to be a cybersecurity role model and support the program. They promote CyberSecure Canada certification at webinars and to clients because they believe in its value. “This is so needed in the marketplace,” said Devon Gillard, Chief Marketing Officer. “These security controls are essential for a reason. If you don’t have these done, anything else you add on top is a lower return on your investment.” F12.net encourages anyone thinking about getting CyberSecure certified to do so.
