Who we are
The Design and Experimentation Centre of Expertise (DECoE) works directly with Canadian businesses and organizations to improve Government of Canada services. We are a team with a diversity of experience in service design and experimentation. We provide solutions and recommendations to make Government of Canada services easier to use and more accessible to all people living in Canada.
Service design and human-centered thinking asks us to:
- empathize to fully understand how and why someone is not or can not access information
- find solutions that people want to use and are easy for everyone to use
- use available and trusted technology
Values
Our goal is to listen and learn from the experiences of businesses and remove barriers they might be facing when using government services. We focus on:
- Collaboration and building trust so people can share their experiences openly
- Providing evidence-based decision making
- Testing and experimentation to understand what exactly the problem is and how to find the best solution
