Horizon Europe funds a wide range of research across disciplines, primarily targeting 'cutting-edge research and innovation' within the STM fields and the social sciences.
Did you know? Thirty-five per cent of Horizon Europe funding targets efforts to combat climate change.
It is built on three pillars:
- Pillar 1: Excellent science – supports advanced research training, breakthrough innovations and research infrastructure.
- Pillar 2: Global challenges and European industrial competitiveness – includes six thematic clusters, each tackling a specific and broad societal issue and strengthening Europe's industrial competitiveness.
- Pillar 3: Innovative Europe – supports breakthrough innovations and collaboration between industry, academia and the public sector.
