Networks are collaborations between businesses, post-secondary institutions, and research institutes across Canada. Through funding distribution flowing down from the lead applicant of the network to core partners and the selected projects of ultimate recipients, the network's ecosystem members support each other through industrial research and development, business scale-up, technology development and commercialization. Learn more about the different network projects.
Lead applicants
Lead applicants are responsible for the activities that facilitate collaboration among the network's network, launching calls for proposals, selecting ultimate recipients and key projects that will advance the network's objectives, distributing funds, and making connections and building collaborative opportunities between network members.
Core partners
Core partners help the lead applicant govern the network and its activities as part of the governance board of the network. Core partners also take part in projects that aim to advance the networks' objectives.
Ultimate recipients
Ultimate recipients receive funds from the lead applicant to support research, innovation and technology development projects and partnerships. Ultimate recipients take part in collaborative projects that aim to advance the networks' overarching goal. They also share industry knowledge with other members of the network. Ultimate recipients include large corporations, small-and-medium sized enterprises, academic and research institutions, and not-for profit entities.
Ecosystem members
Ecosystem members are individuals or organizations registered with a network and granted access to specialized resources, digital information platforms, tailored conferences and events, and/or other networking services provided through free or fee-based membership.
Network locations
SRF Networks projects can be found across Canada. This section identifies the provinces where each networks' lead applicant operates their national network, as well as the number of ultimate recipients leading projects in each province.
