RE: Publication of RSS-210, Issue 9, (Amendment)

Notice is hereby given that Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) is making changes to the following standard:

• Radio Standards Specification RSS-210, Issue 9 (amendment), Licence-Exempt Radio Apparatus: Category I Equipment

Effective May 25, 2018, ISED will no longer accept applications for the certification of new low-power apparatus that operate in the bands 617-652 MHz and 663-698 MHz. Furthermore, as of November 15, 2018, no low-power apparatus in the bands 617-652 MHz and 663-698 MHz may be sold, offered for sale, manufacturered, imported, distributed or leased on the Canadian market.

General information

The Radio Equipment Standards list (http://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/smt-gst.nsf/eng/h_sf06128.html) will be amended accordingly.

Certification Bodies have one year from the date of publication to amend their recognized scope of accreditation to reflect the new release of this standard in accordance with ISED procedures for conformity assessment bodies.
