RE: Publication of RSS-GEN, Issue 5, Amendment 1, RSS-246, Issue 1 and
RSS-HAC, Issue 1
Notice is hereby given that Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) has published the following standards:
- Radio Standards Specification RSS-GEN, Issue 5, Amendment 1, General Requirements for Compliance of Radio Apparatus which sets out general and certification requirements for licensed and licence-exempt radio apparatus used for radiocommunication other than broadcasting.
- Radio Standards Specification RSS-246, Issue 1, Ultra-Low Power (ULP) Wireless Medical Capsule Endoscopy Devices Operating in the 430-440 MHz Band which sets out the certification requirements for licence-exempt ultra-low power wireless medical capsule endoscopy device operating in the 430-440 MHz frequency band.
- Radio Standards Specification RSS-HAC, Issue 1, Hearing Aid Compatibility and Volume Control which sets out the compliance requirements for hearing aid compatibility and volume control features for specific radio apparatus.
General information
The Radio Equipment Standards list will be amended accordingly.
Certification Bodies have one year from the date of publication to amend their recognized scope of accreditation to reflect the new release of this standard in accordance with ISED procedures for conformity assessment bodies.
The Radiocommunication and Broadcasting Equipment Scopes of Accreditation for Certification Bodies will be updated to include RSS-246 under Radio Scope 1 and RSS-HAC under Radio Scopes 2, 3 and 5.
