July 2026
An update for readers
You may have noticed that there was no Consumer Edge issue published in May and we wanted to share why it didn't land in your inbox. After careful consideration, we've made the decision to conclude the newsletter.
Over the years, Consumer Edge has provided Canadians with practical tools, research and info on consumer protection initiatives from across government and partner organizations.
While the newsletter is wrapping up, the Government's commitment to helping Canadians navigate everyday consumer issues isn't changing.
You can start by bookmarking the Consumer Affairs web page, which brings together consumer information and resources from across the Government of Canada.
Many trusted federal organizations and programs continue to provide tools, updates and support, and we want to make sure you know where to find them.
- Competition Bureau Canada for deceptive marketing and marketplace information
- Financial Consumer Agency of Canada for financial literacy tools and banking information
- Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre for scam awareness and fraud reporting
- Canada's anti-spam legislation website for information on how to protect yourself from, and report, spam and other electronic threats
- Health Canada for consumer product recalls and safety alerts
- Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) for telecommunications-related consumer information
- Canadian Transportation Agency for air travel and passenger rights information
- Canadian Food Inspection Agency for food recalls
- Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada for topics related to privacy and use of personal information
Thank you to our readers, partners and contributors for your continued support of Consumer Edge over the years.
