During the fiscal year 1999-2000, the Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) was provided funding by Industry Canada's Office of Consumer Affairs (OCA) to engage in international consumer advocacy on issues of concern to consumers in respect to electronic commerce. This concise report is a summary of significant activities and accomplishments made possible by that project, organized in groupings such as: making input to international organizations, Canadian governments, and business groups. Specific activities include: participation in the Trans-Atlantic Consumer Dialogue working on electronic commerce, providing input on electronic commerce standards to the OCA, and making a presentation to the FTAA E-Commerce Committee on consumer protection issues.This document is available in the following language(s):
