Time or money? How high and low income Canadians spend their time

There are 24 hours in a day: no more, no less. Just how hectic life gets depends on many factors - including income. Our incomes affect, among other things, the neighbourhood and housing we live in, the holidays we choose, the activities we engage in and the time we spend on these activities. Our incomes may also be related to the number of hours we spend on paid work and household chores, the amount of time we devote to playing with our children, and the time we have left for leisure. Using the 1998 General Social Survey, this article compares the activities and time use of Canadians aged 25 to 54 in high- and low-income households.This document is available in the following language(s):
