Summary

The report examines the funding for consumer organizations participation in consultation processes. The research found a number of shortcomings to the existing model of consultation and funding support in Canada: lack of application of best practice in consultation exercises; lack of resources and inconsistencies in the way support was given; and lack of peer support for consumer representatives, among others. A number of recommendations are provided.
