This year for the first time, as an adjunct to the annual Spectrum 20/20 symposium, an invitation-only Spectrum Roundtable was held in Ottawa on April 22, 2010. The event was hosted by Industry Canada with the assistance of the Radio Advisory Board of Canada (RABC). We were joined by a number of well known Canadian telecommunications leaders along with internationally recognized experts who acted as facilitators for each session as we explored spectrum policy issues such as incentive pricing, spectrum trading, spectrum usage rights and the legislation and institutions governing spectrum use in Canada.
The format for the Roundtable differed from Spectrum 20/20 in that it provided a setting which facilitated frank and open discussion under the Chatham House Rule with a limited number of attendees which included both participants and observers.
At this time, we anticipate this will become a regular event.
