Overview of access licensing for radio licences
This site-based licensing option is an alternative to commercial spectrum licensing where access is given to land mobile radio frequencies for private broadband application; as such, it is limited to radiocommunication users, per the Radiocommunication Regulations.
Annual site-based radio licences will be issued to eligible private network users for broadband systems in land mobile and fixed radio services to operate in the 900 MHz band, as identified in SRSP-506 — Technical Requirements for Land Mobile and Fixed Radio Services Operating in the Bands 896-901 MHz and 935-940 MHz, in the rural and remote areas known as Tier 5 service areas.
