Subject: Suggestions for reducing harm caused by copyright extension

Please reconsider your opposition to the recommendations of INDU requiring registration if copyright holders are to enjoy the added term. Since Berne does not protect further than 50 years anyway, requiring registration only after that time would not seem in breach (and would be worth fighting for if needed).

If you won't follow that approach, please consider the widest possible set of public interest exemptions to this extension. The US may have forced this country into an action that will cause much more net harm than good, but we should implement it in the most narrow way possible, to minimise those harms.
