Remote Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) Policy
All new conformity assessment body (CAB) assessments must be performed on-site. In cases where it remains to be prohibitive to do so, ISED will require that the assessor provide rationale/justification to the department to approve a remote assessment.
In cases where a CAB seeks either a renewal or scope expansion of its recognition, ISED will support remote assessments, except where the CAB seeks recognition of any RSS-102 related scope. Similarly, if assessing any RSS-102 related scope remains prohibitive, ISED will require justification.
