A corporation key is a password. The corporation number along with a corporation key allows you to complete some online transactions.
A corporation key will eventually become mandatory to file an annual return for businesses incorporated under the CBCA.
Missing your corporation key?
You can find it here:
On the 'Corporate Information Sheet', sent by email on your date of incorporation
If you still can't find it, you can request a new one below. Note that if you request a new corporation key, we will send it to the current registered office address by mail by the end of the next business day. Please note that mail delivery standards apply. Your previous corporation key becomes invalid as soon as we issue a new corporation key.
If your registered office address is different from the one on file, or if you have an urgent need, contact us by phone at 1-866-333-5556 (toll-free in Canada) before requesting a new key.
Manage access to your corporation key
New access management tools Quick links are now available for your corporation on the right-hand side of the Online Filing Centre. Among other functionalities, you can link your corporation to your My ISED Account using a corporation key. Once this is done, you will no longer need to use your key when filing!
This feature greatly reduces the hassle around sharing a corporation key with members of a corporation, misplacing it and having it fall into the wrong hands.

Only share your corporation key with individuals who have the authority to file on behalf of your corporation. We recommend that you request a new key when these individuals no longer have the authority.
