Corporations Canada launches new feature to federal incorporation

Corporations Canada is proud to announce the launch of a new feature to the basic incorporation service for Canadian small businesses and entrepreneurs. Starting today, entrepreneurs have the possibility to choose between one or two classes of shares when using the basic incorporation service at the federal level.

With basic incorporation, Canadians can incorporate a business with a "pre-packaged" corporate structure. This includes:

  • an assigned numbered corporate name
  • one or two classes of shares
  • maximum of 10 directors; and
  • pre-determined articles of incorporation.

By adding two classes of shares as a feature, Corporations Canada is taking the next step in terms of a customized service to business owners who are not only looking to expand, but who would also like to benefit from taking a quick and easy path to incorporation.
