The Digital Technology Cluster is helping Canadians get the skills they need in an increasingly digital world through capacity-building projects focused on employee upskilling and reskilling, and is supporting connectivity for rural, remote and Indigenous communities. The Cluster uses their capacity-building projects to upskill Canadians to be more tech literate, as illustrated by:
- Athena Pathways, which is helping more Canadian women see the potential of the tech sector, and how a career in artificial intelligence (AI) aligns with their skills and interests. The project provided girls and women, from middle and post-secondary students to professionals and leaders, with training, internships, and mentorship in computing science and gender diversity in AI. This project has connected over 500 women to pathways into the technology sector.
- The Digital Innovation and Leadership (DIAL) initiative, a collaboration designed to upskill over 1,100 Canadians and provide a systems-change solution for Canadian employers. This project ensures that people and teams—including senior leadership—have the competencies required to navigate change and drive innovation. The initiative is focused on Canada and is already scaling globally, with the potential to deliver the training in up to 70 countries and in 30 languages.
