Combined VCAP, VCCI 2017 and VCCI 2021 investments have generated significant impacts on the VC ecosystem. Based on latest available data, as of December 31, 2024:

Data on Open Government Portal

The following data, for VCAP and VCCI 2017, as of December 31, 2024, is now available through the Open Government Portal

Performance metrics - updated annually and contain information on investment activity and financial performance of recipient funds.

Economic impact data - updated annually, and include information on the economic impact of Canadian companies that have received investment by venture capital funds supported under the program.

Diversity, equity and inclusion metrics - VCCI recipients report annually on diversity, equity and inclusion metrics using the Business Development Bank of Canada's DEI Reporting Template for Canadian General Partners (GPs).

Data related to VCCI 2021 will start to be available with the next annual update.

Research reports

This report provides a profile of companies that have received investment by venture capital funds supported under VCAP, and estimates the impact of investment on company performance.

Program recipients and beneficiaries

Recipient fund managers raise additional private sector capital and make investments in VC funds (funds-of-funds streams) and innovative Canadian firms (all streams).
