    An address for service is an address where the individual with significant control can be contacted, for example by mail. If provided, this address is made public instead of the individual’s residential address.


    Individuals with significant control

    An individual with significant control (ISC) is someone who owns or controls a corporation. This individual:

    • owns, controls or directs a significant number of shares individually or jointly with one or more individuals;
    • has control in fact over the corporation without owning any shares; or
    • meets a combination of any of these factors.


    Individuals with significant control

    ISC information is required to be filed with Corporations Canada at the following times:

    • Annually (at the same time as filing your annual return)
    • Within 15 days of a change in your ISC register
    • Upon incorporation or within 30 days of the date of the Certificate of Amalgamation or the Certificate of Continuance
